Marginpar

Marginpar has been growing cut flowers for over 30 years. We are most know for our Clematis, Eryngium and Astrantia series, but grow many many more: the assortment consists out of 100 different varieties of cut flowers. Our flower fields span  17 different geographical locations and altitudes under the African sun in Kenya, Ethiopia, and at our partner farms in Tanzania and Zimbabwe. This makes it possible to grow each flower in the perfect spot.

In the Netherlands, adjacent to the flower auction in Aalsmeer, is the headquarters where flowers arrive to be checked, cut and prepared for distribution.

Remarkable flowers

At Marginpar, we love remarkable flowers - species that are exclusive and allow a florist to make a difference. We obtain these special flowers through close relationships with our breeders. Together, the Product Development team searches for flowers with the best potential that can perform well in the African soils and fit within the Marginpar concept. The team does not give up easily. Sometimes it takes a decade before a product can be successfully introduced into the market.

Our flowers are cultivated outside, where they are given all the time they need to grow gently. Thanks to the weather conditions, combined with slow cultivation, Marginpar flowers are strong and sturdy.

Sustainably grown

Marginpar is an FSI member committed to 100% sustainable production. All of Marginpar’s own farms are fully certified: in Kenya with KFC Silver and GlobalG.A.P., and in Ethiopia with MPS-ABC/SQ. The partner farms in Tanzania are MPS certified with MPS A+, MPS-GAP, and MPS-SQ. Half of the farms in Zimbabwe are also MPS certified, while the other half is still in the certification process.

These certificates not only represent sustainable cultivation but also good working conditions. Our people are number one. We work according to the Kaizen principle, where recognition, appreciation, and trust form the basis of our culture.
